The Problem:

Our community faces the challenge of youth involvement in crime, leading to devastating consequences for individuals, families, and society. We must proactively address the root causes, provide young people with the tools, and support they need to avoid these pitfalls.

Our Solution:

The "Stop Throwing Rocks at The Chain Gang" Youth Summit is a powerful preventive initiative designed to:

  • Educate: Provide youth with firsthand knowledge about the legal system and the consequences of criminal behavior.

  • Inspire: Showcase the transformative power of redemption through the stories of formerly incarcerated individuals.

  • Empower: Equip youth with practical skills in conflict resolution, mental health awareness, and violence prevention.

  • Connect: Foster positive relationships between youth, law enforcement, and community leaders.

The Meaning Behind "Stop Throwing Rocks at The Chain Gang":

This powerful metaphor, rooted in the Black community, symbolizes the choice young people face. "Rocks" represent criminal acts, and the "Chain Gang" represents the devastating consequences of incarceration. We aim to guide youth away from "throwing rocks" and towards a brighter future.
