Summer Camp 2024

Our third annual specialized trades and career exploration summer camp known as H.O.P.E Youth Camp, where young participants engage in hands-on experiences with various skilled trades and explore career options that they often aren’t exposed to in traditional educational settings.

In addition to these practical activities, the camp offers a comprehensive curriculum that includes important topics such as financial literacy, mental health awareness, social-emotional wellness, nutrition and wellness, table etiquette, proper communication and greeting skills, public speaking techniques, athletics, STEM education, employability skills, interviewing tactics, character development, professional growth, and essential leadership skills. This holistic approach ensures each participant can develop essential life skills while exploring their interests and potential career paths.

Week 1

  • Day 1: 3-D printing followed by a vision board party

  • Day 2: 3-D printing followed by social and emotional wellness activities

  • Day 3: Embroidery and sewing followed by financial literacy session with Truist Bank

  • Day 4: Embroidery and sewing followed by entrepreneurship and physical fitness activities

  • Day 5: Field trip to Loggerhead Marinelife Center, followed by bowling

Week 2

  • Day 1: Culinary/Hospitality followed by mental health talks and activities

  • Day 2: Culinary/Hospitality followed by social & emotional wellness

  • Day 3: Closed for Juneteenth holiday

  • Day 4: Professional Cake decorating followed by entrepreneurship and physical fitness

  • Day 5: Field trip to Peanut Island(beach) swimming and BBQing

Week 3

  • Day 1: Carpentry build followed by mental health talks and activities and physical fitness

  • Day 2: Construction followed by social & emotional wellness

  • Day 3: Carpentry design followed by financial literacy (Truist bank)

  • Day 4: Tiny charging station build & design

  • Day 5: Field trip to Palm Beach County Office of Equal Business Opportunity and the Lake Lytal pool to swim

Week 4

  • Day 1: Hair/nails followed by mental health talks and activities and physical fitness

  • Day 2: Hair/nails followed by social & emotional wellness

  • Day 3:  Dental followed by Financial literacy(Truist bank)

Week 5

  • Day 1: HVAC/Low voltage followed by mental health talks and physical fitness

  • Day 2: HVAC/Low voltage followed by social & emotional wellness

  • Day 3: Event planning followed by financial literacy. Youth planned, budgeted, came up with agenda, and food for their end of camp ceremony during event planning.

  • Day 4: Event planning followed by entrepreneurship. End of camp ceremony was held later that evening

  • Day 5:  Field trip to Rapids water park

Week 6

  • Day 1: Motivational and public speaking followed by physical fitness

  • Day 2: Table etiquette and proper communication & greeting skills followed by mental health talk and activities

  • Day 3: Team building with board games, conflict resolution, and character building activities.

  • Day 4:  Recreation activities, games, and reflections. Last day of camp

Camp Ceremony

The end-of-camp ceremony was a fantastic success, thanks to our participants' hard work. They created an engaging agenda with heartfelt speeches, fun activities, and a delicious menu. The event celebrated the campers' achievements and showcased their leadership skills, providing a memorable conclusion to an enriching experience.
